1. Purpose and Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Undermind AI-powered research platform ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP and our Terms of Service. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account and access to the Service.
Undermind reserves the right to update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
2. Zero Tolerance for CSAM
Undermind maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and the sexual exploitation of minors in any form. Under no circumstances may you use the Service to:
- Generate, create, describe, or facilitate CSAM.
- Search for, retrieve, or process content depicting the sexual abuse of minors.
- Use the Service in any way connected to the grooming, solicitation, or exploitation of children.
- Upload or share content that contains, references, or links to CSAM.
Any detected or reported use involving CSAM will result in immediate account termination and mandatory reporting to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement, in accordance with applicable law.
3. Permitted Uses
You may use the Service for lawful purposes, including but not limited to:
- Academic research and literature review.
- Searching, analyzing, and managing academic papers and scientific publications.
- Personal productivity and knowledge management.
- Commercial use consistent with your subscription plan terms.
4. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Illegal activity: Generate, process, or distribute content that violates any applicable law, regulation, or court order.
- Harassment and hate speech: Produce harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, or discriminatory content targeting individuals or groups.
- Fraud and deception: Create phishing content, fraudulent documents, impersonation materials, or deceptive content intended to deceive others.
- Malware and cyberattacks: Generate malicious code, exploit tools, ransomware, hacking instructions, or any content designed to compromise systems or data.
- Deepfakes and synthetic media: Produce AI-synthesized audio, video, or imagery that impersonates real individuals without their consent.
- Intellectual property infringement: Process or generate content that infringes third-party copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other IP rights.
- Privacy violations: Process personal data of others without lawful basis or in violation of applicable privacy laws.
- Card network rules: Process payments in violation of card network rules or applicable financial regulations.
- Abuse of service: Bypass rate limits, interfere with Service infrastructure, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated bots without authorization.
- Resale: Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without prior written approval from Undermind.
5. AI-Specific Prohibitions
Given the nature of our AI-powered platform, the following additional restrictions apply:
- No competitive AI training: You may not use the Service's Input, Output, or any data derived therefrom to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model that competes directly or indirectly with Undermind or our affiliated models.
- No mass extraction: You may not massively or systematically scrape, extract, or collect Output or content from the Service for purposes beyond your authorized personal or commercial use. Bulk data harvesting, automated crawling, or systematic copying of search results is prohibited.
- No professional impersonation: You may not present AI-generated content as the output of a licensed human professional — including but not limited to physicians, attorneys, certified public accountants, or financial advisors — in contexts where such misrepresentation could cause harm.
- No safety evasions: You may not use the Service to generate content designed to circumvent safety, moderation, or policy enforcement systems.
- No weapons and dangerous content: You may not use the Service to generate instructions for creating weapons, explosives, CBRN materials, or other dangerous devices; nor to generate content facilitating violent acts or terrorism.
6. Content Moderation System
Undermind employs automated systems and, where necessary, human reviewers to monitor, review, and moderate content processed through the Service. Our content moderation system is designed to:
- Detect and block prohibited content at the point of input and output.
- Identify patterns of abuse or policy violations across accounts.
- Flag content for human review when automated systems cannot make a definitive determination.
- Support law enforcement requests in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Content moderation decisions are logged and may be reviewed upon request by contacting trust@undermind.ai. Undermind reserves the right to make final determinations on content moderation decisions.

If you become aware of content or activity that violates this AUP, please report it immediately using the appropriate channel:

8. Enforcement and Consequences
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning: Written notice for minor first-time violations.
- Content removal: Removal of content generated or processed in violation of this AUP.
- Rate limiting or temporary suspension: Restricted access while we investigate.
- Permanent account termination: For serious or repeated violations, including CSAM-related content, fraud, or repeated copyright infringement.
- Law enforcement referral: When required by law or when necessary to prevent harm to others.
Undermind is not obligated to provide notice before taking enforcement action in cases of serious violations or where required by law.
