Welcome to Undermind ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, subscribing to any plan, or otherwise using our AI-powered research service ("Service"), you confirm that you: (a) are at least 18 years of age; (b) have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"); and (c) are authorized to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or your organization.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop using the Service. Continued use after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Undermind provides an AI-powered research platform that helps users discover, analyze, and manage academic papers and scientific literature. The Service is provided as a web-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) product delivered digitally over the internet.
You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. If you discover unauthorized use, contact security@undermind.ai immediately.
We offer subscription plans to access the Service. Plan details and pricing are available at /pricing. We reserve the right to modify plan features or introduce new plans at any time.
5.1 Auto-renewal Authorization: By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize Undermind to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the start of each billing cycle. This authorization remains in effect until you cancel your subscription per Section 6.
5.2 Annual Renewal: Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled. We will send a renewal reminder before renewal.
5.3 Taxes: Prices listed exclude applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax, etc.) unless stated otherwise.

Cancellation takes effect immediately. A confirmation email will be sent within 10 minutes.
6.2 Effect of Cancellation: Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No further charges will be made after the current period ends. Account data will be retained for 90 days following cancellation, then deleted per our Privacy Policy.
7.1 General Policy: Due to the immediate delivery nature of our digital service, subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except in the following cases:

7.3 Non-Refundable Items: Used subscription periods, annual subscriptions cancelled more than 30 days after first purchase, and accounts terminated for violation of these Terms are not eligible for refunds.
If you believe a charge is in error, please contact billing@undermind.ai before contacting your bank. We will respond within 2 business days and resolve confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.
9.1 Output Ownership: Content you generate using the Service ("Output") belongs to you, subject to these Terms. You may use Output for any lawful purpose consistent with Section 10.
9.2 Input License: By submitting content to the Service ("Input"), you grant Undermind a limited, non-exclusive license to process your Input solely to provide the Service. We will not use your Input to train AI models without your explicit consent.
9.3 AI Output Accuracy: AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying Output before relying on it.
10.1 Permitted Uses: You may use the Service only for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms, including legitimate research, academic work, and personal productivity.

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy at /privacy. Payment card data is processed exclusively by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor (Waffo Pancake) and is never stored on our servers. Account data is retained for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted per our Privacy Policy.
12.1 As-Is Basis: The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or AI output accuracy.
12.2 AI Content Disclaimer: ⚠️ AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Do not use it for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice without independent verification by a qualified professional.
12.3 Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Undermind's total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious breaches, suspected fraud, or legal requirements. If we terminate for reasons not caused by your breach, you will receive a prorated refund for unused prepaid periods. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@undermind.ai.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction. Before initiating formal proceedings, please contact legal@undermind.ai for informal resolution.
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated at least 14 days in advance via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If any provision is found invalid, the remainder remains in full force.
